April 22, 2010 Dear Swan Valley Parents: Below are the results of our Swan Valley Schools Budget Survey that was administered during the week of March 15. We received over 440 parent responses to the questions that were asked. The 440 responses represent 37% of our 1183 families that are in the district. Your responses have been presented to the Swan Valley Board of Education; will be shared with Swan Valley staff, and now are posted on the district web site. The survey will be used as one of the tools to help the district make decisions in the future. While the input from the community is helpful, such things as existing labor agreements and state mandates must be taken into consideration before some of the recommended changes by respondents could be implemented. Please review the breakdown of how each question was answered. To this date, this additional data continues to be analyzed. Using an on-line survey for community input also seemed to be a success. With many families having busy schedules, an on-line survey can give families a chance to give input, when it is nearly impossible to attend a nightly meeting. Once again, thank you for your input.
