2013-2014 Busing Requirements

With proposed and existing budget cuts for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year, there is a dire need to have an accurate picture of how many students will be riding Swan Valley buses at the beginning of the new school year.  In past years, we have received numerous Requests for Transportation Forms for students that never ride a bus.  We need to be more accurate during this and upcoming years.  So if your student is not intending to ride a Swan Valley school bus at the beginning of the school year, please do not fill out a request form just for the sake of filling one out.

Ask yourself these questions when making your decision whether or not to fill out a Request for Transportation Form:

·   Is my student going to ride a school bus at the start of the school year?

·   Is my student going to ride a school bus shortly into the start of the new school year?

·   If either question is answered with a yes, then fill out a Request for Transportation form. If no, it is not necessary to fill out a form.  Remember this when making your decision whether or not to fill out a Request for Transportation form.  Not filling out a request does not mean your student can not ride for the entire school year.  It is a very fast process during the school year.  If a request is filled out, in all likelihood that student will be on a school bus the next scheduled day. 

Each student may have one morning, one afternoon, and one emergency alternate bus stop.  Parents with joint custody situations, that both live in the district, will each be allowed one morning, one afternoon, and one emergency alternate bus stop.

Students are to ride only their assigned buses.  Notes from parents will no longer be used except in emergency situations for the alternate address listed.

Forms must be returned by Friday June 1, 2012 to be scheduled for fall bus routes.

Transportation will be denied to any address not on file with parents/guardians signature.
