Thank you for agreeing to serve on this year’s Swan Valley District School Improvement Team/ Curriculum Coordinating Council. This committee will meet four times during the year on a Monday evening. The first meeting date is set for Monday, October 17th, 6:30 p.m. at the Marvin L. Johnson Administration Center. The other meetings are tentatively set for December 19, 2011, February 13, 2012, and April 16, 2012. We will review these dates at our first meeting to resolve any conflicts that might exist.
This committee meets to discuss progress being made toward district school improvement goals and curriculum development and implementation. At our first meeting, we will update you on curriculum initiatives, review the 2011-12 Strategic Plan, provide update information on the MEAP and ask that you approve the K-8 Technology Curriculum and MS & HS Visual Arts Curriculum. Mr. McRae will also be doing a brief introduction to a potential new class for 2012-13. There will also be an update on the new courses/programs that were installed for the 2011-12 school year. We will also accept any requests from the membership to focus on areas of interest during the school year.
Once again, thank you for joining us for the 2011-12 school year on this important district committee. I look forward to seeing you on Monday, October 17th.
