Welcome!

My name is Tezra Armstrong and I am the elementary music teacher for Swan Valley Public Schools. I teach Young Fives through Fifth grade at both Havens and Shields elementary school. I graduated from Michigan State University and have been teaching in Swan Valley for 15 years.  I have furthered my education at Central Michigan University, Saginaw Valley State University and St. Thomas University in Minnesota.

General music involves singing, movement, playing instruments and listening. All of these activities cover the basic fundamentals of music, such as, rhythm, harmony, form, melody and expressive qualities. Music classes meet once a week for 50 minutes. Young Fives and Kindergarten will meet for 30 minutes twice a week.

It is my desire that all children regardless of age, race, disabilites or economic status be included in the music education process so that they will be on their way to becoming great musicians.
